Our Finishes
INDOOR FURNITURE FINISHES
Our commitment to highlighting and protecting the natural beauty of wood is evident in our choice of finishes. We use high-quality VOC-free hard wax/oils that provide durable protection without obscuring the wood's unique texture and character. Unlike commercially applied finishes like polyurethane topcoats, oil finishes are easy to repair and refresh.
For High-Traffic Areas:
Rubio Monocoat: This innovative finish penetrates deep into the wood fibers, creating a molecular bond that enhances durability and resistance to wear, water, and heat. Rubio Monocoat maintains the wood's natural appearance and feel, making it ideal for high-usage areas like tabletops.
For General Use:
Osmo PolyX: Offering a similar visual and tactile experience to Rubio Monocoat, Osmo PolyX is a versatile choice for a wide range of furniture pieces. Its ease of application makes it well-suited for sculptural designs, intricate joinery, and complex transitions.
Why Choose Hard Wax/Oil Finishes?
Natural Protection: Hard wax/oils offer durable protection without the artificial look of traditional coatings.
Enhanced Durability: Resist wear, water, and heat while preserving the wood's natural beauty.
Versatile Applications: Suitable for a variety of furniture pieces, from high-traffic tabletops to more delicate chairs and bed frames.
OUTDDOR FURNITURE FINISHES
Our outdoor furniture is crafted from high-quality species such as Sapele (similar to Mahogany), Iroko (African teak). When left exposed to the elements, these woods will develop a unique, silvery-gray patina as the UV rays naturally degrade the lignin cells. This process creates a timeless and organic look that is both beautiful and durable.
Why Choose Unfinished Furniture?
Even Patina: Unfinished furniture allows the wood to weather evenly, creating a consistent and harmonious appearance.
Minimal Maintenance: Avoid the hassle of refinishing or touch-ups.
Natural Beauty: Embrace the organic beauty and warmth of weathered wood whose silvery gray tones compliment contemporary, transitional, and traditional spaces.
Want to Slow Down the Weathering Process?
For those who prefer a slightly slower oxidation process, we offer application of Osmo UV Protection Oil. This oil helps protect the wood from the harmful effects of UV rays, while still allowing the natural patina to develop over time. Unlike traditional polyurethane finishes, Osmo oil degrades more gradually and avoids unsightly flaking. This method will preserve the original color a bit longer, all depending on your locations latitude.
We also offer the design and fabrication of custom covers for outdoor furniture.
