Care & Maintenance
Our furniture is finished with a satin hard wax oil that protects the wood while allowing it to breathe and age naturally. This finish provides strong everyday protection while also allowing for simple spot repairs and long-term renewal when needed.
Routine Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth
Clean as needed using a slightly damp (not wet) cloth
Avoid harsh cleaners, ammonia, or abrasive products
For deeper cleaning, use a wood cleaner designed for hardwax oil finishes (such as Osmo Wash & Care)
Spill Protection
Wipe up spills promptly to prevent moisture absorption
Do not allow standing water or wet items to remain on the surface
Use coasters and placemats whenever possible
Long-Term Maintenance
Over time, high-contact surfaces may benefit from a light maintenance application.
Apply a thin coat of a compatible product such as Osmo Polyx® Oil or Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner as needed
Light sanding is typically not required for maintenance coats
This process helps restore sheen, protection, and surface uniformity
Environmental Considerations
Use trivets, coasters, and protective pads to guard against heat and moisture
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight when possible, as natural wood will gradually patinate and change color over time
Wood is a living material and will respond to its environment—this natural aging is part of its character
One of the key advantages of a hardwax oil finish is its renewability. Unlike film finishes, it can be refreshed and spot-repaired without refinishing the entire piece, helping extend the life of your furniture for decades.
